Out the front of this pub the venue looks like a chain pub, shiny and new with a name dreamt up by a landlord with the creative mind of a brick of MDF. Inside however, the pub reveals a rounded bar, sitting towards the back, a small stage area to the left with wide, woody-acoustics and reasonable capacity.
The gem lies at the very back of the pub as a separate room with wonderful interior. In a few words it is a very ornate viewing room for the football. The room is very square with high leather backed benches running along the walls, setup as booths with decoration and etchings that make you feel a little like you are sitting in the house of commons. Very dark in colour and with old style spotlights lighting the place up you can see more than an appeal to this place.
Surprisingly the people here do not match up with the furniture, they are average hackney and Holloway blood with a hint of Irish thrown in, expect boisterous bar service, cackling and authentic Irish crisps

FOR THE RECORD THE REVIEWS BELOW ARE PRIOR TO MY ROCKIN' CLUB.... VIRGINIA CREEPERS CLUB, MOVING TO THE OLD KINGS HEAD IN FEBRUARY 2008.UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT IT IS A GREAT EVEN FABULOUS VENUE BUT THE NEW MANAGEMENT, THERE SINCE JANUARY 2008 DO NOT SEE FIT TO PUT IN PROPER SOUND/DECKS/LIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND I HAVE TO HIRE EVERYTHING IN TO DO MY USUAL PROFESSIONAL JOB!!.THE OLD MANAGEMENT..... ROCK N ROLL GUYS, HAD EVERYTHING IN THERE, WHICH THE REVIEWS BELOW ARE ALL ABOUT, BUT...... THEY TOOK IT ALL WHEN THEY LEFT OF COARSE!! I HAD ALREADY BOOKED MY NITES AND BANDS FOR THE NEXT 6 MTHS!!! ITS A STRUGGLE, BUT AM WORKIN ON THE OWNERS TO MAKE THEIR MINDS UP WHAT THEY WANT, A ROCKIN VENUE TO BE PROUD OF OR...... WHAT!!COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELVES... THE COOLIEST VENUE IN NORTH LONDON!!MY RATINGS ARE BASED ON MY OWN NITE ONLY.MARILYN VIRGINIA

Kings Crosseyed

This is exactly what you all say, a pub with cheap drinks and cheap bands. And you get what you pay for, the beers awful, the bands worse and its more like a kids playground than a bar.Im a metaller and i wont touch it (and I live around the corner).Avoid!

Honey

I visited this pub last weekend, for the first time since it's revamp. Much imroved, but does feel a little like a poor man's Big Red. Drinks were pretty cheep, but it didn't quite manage to capture the same atmosphere that I have seen Ben culitvate over the last few years at the red...but hey, give it time. I remember when Big Red opened and it's really come on in leaps and bounds. I will go back to the King's Head, it's definitely worth a visit.
